Former Kansas City running back Larry Johnson has cleared waivers and now is an unrestricted free agent, eligible to sign with any team willing to take him on.

Since nobody picked up Johnson's contract, the Chiefs will have to pay him the slightly more than $2 million he's owed for the remainder of this season.

Teams rumored to be interested in Johnson are the Redskins, Eagles, Texans, and, possibly, the Patriots, who have had success with the likes of Corey Dillon and Randy Moss -- two players who were unhappy before coming to New England.
