Responding immediately -- and quickly -- to Miami's 66-yard TD drive that consumed 10:09 to open the second half, the Patriots regained the lead by covering 80 yards in just three plays.
The big play was a 71-yard TD pass from Tom Brady to Randy Moss, who darted past overmatched rookie cornerback Vontae Davis to make the catch, then straight-armed Davis at the Miami 40 and ran away from him to the end zone.
Moss added to Davis' frustration by beating him again to haul in a 2-point conversion pass from Brady that gave New England a 24-17 lead.
Although Davis intercepted Brady's second pass of the game -- a bomb to Moss -- at the Miami 7, it was Davis that Moss beat on a 36-yard reception that set up the Pats' first touchdown.
On that play, Moss held off Davis with his left hand while hauling in the ball one-handed, with his right.
