The talk on ESPN's postgame show concerns the decision to pull Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker with more than five minutes remaining in the game, and the Patriots trailing, 38-17. Former quarterback Steve Young opined that, barring some kind of injury to Brady, it looked like when a child is losing at a game of chess and "just messes up the board" in frustration. Young said that, as improbable as it sounded, he was thinking that the Pats would try to take a big shot downfield in hopes of getting a touchdown, and then go for a quick onside kick. Meanwhile, former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi said that the move by Belichick was just a reaction to how dominant the Saints were. CommentsLeave a comment |
I was stunned to see the Pats give up with so much time left on the clock. That should be a much bigger scandal than the 4th-down go-for-it against the Colts.

Big Baby Billichik is at it again. Trying to save Brady from having a 3-4 interception game would be my guess. Pulling Brady early saved him from more embarrassment.

For whatever reason Brady was just plain "off" last night.. It just wasn't going to happen. Painful as it may be to admit, the Pats have never looked crisp this year. Yes, they've been able to rack-up some points on some plainly BAD teams, but they have never "had it together". At the beginning of the season, we chalked it up to Brady being a little rusty - but it runs deeper than that and its obvious to even the most avid Patriots fan. The Pats will make the playoffs - and they'll win at home, but the chances that they’ll advance much further aren’t promising. The only good news is that the Raiders are 3-8 and we’ll have their first-round draft pick next year. Hats Off to the Saints . . . they played a great game.

Brady was horrible last night.....He couldn't hit the broad side of a 40 foot building...He missed a couple that would of been tds and then threw that obvious interception. When he tanked it, the whole team went flat without a pulse....The defense was also terrible, especially the people they call secondary, good name as they were secondary to anything that resembles a defensive back....NE just showed they are a 2nd level team and New Orleans is the best in the league....hands down....Hats off to Coach Peyton and their players

Changing of the guard, folks. The Saints outplayed and flat outhit the Pats. Toughest team on the field right now and I'm not an active fan or anything either. I've watched the NFL for 35 years. The Saints are the best team in football. Period.

The Pats are just fooling themselves, their defense is horrendous, they can't beat a good team, and Brady isn't close to being Brady....Billy boy has alot of work to do this off-season..right now they are second rate, and I'm being generous!!!

Clearly not the same team we had even last year, never mind 2007. Tom can say he's fine all he wants, but his throws are clearly off. We dont have the defensive bunch we had....Bruschi/Harrison/Seymour/Assante Samuel...etc. What ever happened to the Patriots that preached "humble pie"???? I wonder if BB's arrogance is starting to catch up to him and the rest of the team.

I loved ever second of it the Saints destroyed the Pats in every facet of the game. I loved the confused look on the so called genius face if he was such a genius they would have put up a better showing then that pathetic effort and then to pull your pretty boy from center is a tired excuse for professionals... Don’t worry NE the league will set it up for you next year to have a gravy schedule and they may even change some more rules for you so maybe all pretty boy Brady has to do is wear a flag on the outside of his skirt... Ha Ha Ha
