All those years spent in Minnesota, followed by two in New England, and Randy Moss forgot it might be wise, when it's snowing, to leave extra time to sweep off the car and drive to work?
Not a good day for any Patriots player, much less one of the team's stars, to be late for a team meeting.
Not after the Pats' first back-to-back losses in three years. Not after blowing a two-touchdown lead in a game that would have virtually wrapped up the division title. Not after losing for the fifth time in five games in an opponent's home stadium.
And certainly not in the case of Moss, who, after hauling in a 58-yard touchdown pass on the Patriots' first possession in Miami, all but disappeared for the remainder of the game, catching just one other pass, for only 8 yards. He also was unable to prevent rookie cornerback Vontae Davis from intercepting a pass in the end zone in the fourth quarter.
As for Derrick Burgess and Adalius Thomas -- these are two veteran free agents who have underachieved this season, their paychecks far exceeding their production.
It'll be interesting to see how these vets react to being punished/embarrassed by Bill Belichick. Will they respond by realizing their responsibilites to their teammates and coming up big on Sunday against Carolina, or will they sulk?
