One of the big stories out of last night's debacle in the dome was the play of Saints cornerback Mike McKenzie, who looked like a stud in his first game since being pulled out of unemployment to join his former team.

McKenzie's big plays included an interception and a broken-up pass on a fourth-down play at the New Orleans 10-yard line that sealed the Pats' fate for good.

In an interview with the Sporting News' Dennis Dillon, McKenzie credited the Saints' coaching staff for disrupting the flow of the Patriots' offense, and particularly the passing game:

"Our coaching staff did a tremendous job of mixing things up, and I think we put a little doubt in (quarterback Tom) Brady's mind," he said.

Of his interception in the first quarter, which prevented the Patriots from padding an early 7-3 lead, McKenzie said: "It was just playing football, really. Coach (defensive coordinator Gregg Williams) had a great call, and you couldn't ask for a better gift than that. I was very thankful of the opportunity to give the offense the ball back."

And from there, the offense did the rest.
