Word out of Patriots camp today is that the Pats worked out Clemson defensive end/outside linebacker Ricky Sapp and Northwestern cornerback Sherrick McManis.
The 6-foot-4, 252-pound Sapp is considered to be among the top pass-rushers in a very deep draft. He ran a 4.61, 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound McManis had 37 tackles and a team-best five interceptions for a Northwestern team that finished 8-5 last season. He was selected First Team All-Big 10 by the media and Second Team All-League by the coaches. The news was first reported by the National Football Post.
