In an interview with the Boston Herald, Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss, who fired his longtime agent, Tim DiPiero, declared, "To all the agents out there, I'm a free man."
Here are some of Moss' quotes from the story.
"Instead of football, people are talking about my next move," Moss told the Herald. "But I got this football thing under control. It has nothing to do with football."
"I'm still playing at a high level, I'm still marketable," Moss said. "I'm looking for an agent that's going to get out there and market my marketing ability, because I still feel like I can shoot commercials and do this and do that. I just need somebody that will get that off-the-field money, man, what I deserve."
"Also, I wanted to let the fans know, this is my year. I'm going to play my year. I'm not coming in causing any conflicts or being disgruntled. I know it's a business. Once you get up there in age, people start speculating about your performance."
"I'm preparing myself for crazy," Moss said, laughing. "That's what the NFL's about. It's going to be a recruiting process all over. I'm willing to do that, because I've been in the business long enough that I know what's right and wrong, what's real and fake."
