Ty Law, who played in three Super Bowls and won two during his 10 years with New England, told patriots.com that he will always consider himself a Patriot, even though he played for three other teams -- the Jets, Chiefs and Broncos -- after leaving here.
"When you move on and have to play for somebody else," Law told the web site, "you have to bleed [Jets] green and white. I mean, those are the guys I'm going to war with, the same way I did here. But at the end of the day, nothing will take me away from how I feel about the Patriots and what this organization has done for me. I'm retired now and I'm a Patriot. I'm not rooting for the Jets, I'm not rooting for Kansas City. I'm not rooting for Denver. You know, I'm a Patriot all the way."
Law is back in the area for tonight's Tradition event to benefit the Boston Sports Museum, where he will receive the football legacy award. Law will be presented by team owner Robert Kraft.
"He gave me my first shot to be an NFL player. He trusted in me. In 10 great years, we brought three championships home. I wouldn't want anybody else to present me. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be a New England Patriot."
