Pioli not going anywhere
Hey all --
In an interesting move, Patriots' vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli just sent out a release through the team that both confirmed a report he had been asked to interview for the Giants' general manager position and has decided to turn down the chance:
"I am very honored to be granted the opportunity to discuss a potential position with the New York Giants. I have tremendous respect for the Kraft family, the Mara family, the Tisch family and the Giants organization. After careful consideration, and for personal reasons, I am continuing in my current role with the New England Patriots."
Good news for Patriots fans...

Monday morning... on to the Chargers
Hey all --
We were here early for Coach Belichick, and there wasn't a whole lot of talk about how the Patriots beat the Jets yesterday...

... just a whole lot about the Chargers, LaDanian Tomlinson and Shawne Merriman.
Belichick said he hadn't done much work on the Chargers before this morning, when he was here early to start cramming on how best to slow down the San Diego offense and beat their defense.
The players are off until Wednesday, so this will likely only be our only post today.
