Report: Harrison ACL partially torn
According to San Diego Union-Tribune reporter Jim Trotter (whom we met this week and discovered is as good a guy as he is reporter), Rodney Harrison's right knee injury is not a sprained MCL, as previously reported, but a partially torn ACL.
Citing a source close to the situation, Trotter wrote that Harrison would miss the rest of the postseason should the Patriots advance past this Sunday's game with the Chargers.

Thursday injury report
There are no changes to the New England injury report today. Once again, Tom Brady (right shoulder), Ellis Hobbs (wrist) and Richard Seymour (elbow) were all reported to not have missed any portion of practice, while Rodney Harrison (out, knee), Bam Childress (ankle), Heath Evans (shin), and Benjamin Watson (knee) all missed at least a portion of practice.
For the Chargers, defensive end Jacques Cesaire was upgraded from doubtful to questionable. Fellow D-linemen Derreck Robinson (questionable, foot) and Luis Castillo (probable, ankle), and safety Bhawoh Jue (probable, knee) round out the list.
Their practice participation has not yet been released.

Practice peek
Hey all --
Just in from practice, where things were much the same as they were yesterday:
*Rodney Harrison and Heath Evans were the only players not spotted during the media-access period
*Practice was held inside the Dana Farber Fieldhouse
*The players were in shells and sweatpants/shorts, which is different from yesterday, when they were in full pads
*Rookie defensive lineman LeKevin Smith donned a number 76 scout jersey, meaning he is Pro Bowl nose tackle Jamal Williams , at least for today

Thursday at Gillette
Hey all --
As we draw ever closer to D-Day, Bill Belichick was in good spirits this morning, joking with media folks a few times as he talked more about the Chargers.
To lead things off, Belichick was asked about former Pats linebacker Andre Tippett, who was named one of 17 finalists for the 2007 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction class.
"Congratulations to Andre for getting to this point in the process," Belichick said. "I never had a chance to coach him, but he was a big force out there on the left side. It was always fun to watch him."
The coach was complimentary of View image">Tully Banta-Cain, who had a career-high 5.5 sacks this season and has made the most of his chances since seeing his playing time increase with the injury to Junior Seau. "He's definitely improved (and) played solidly," Belichick said.
