Welker receives tender from Dolphins
Hey all --
One potential player of interest for the Patriots, Dolphins' restricted free agent receiver/return man Wes Welker, reportedly has been tendered at the second-round level.
That means that Welker receives $1.35 million from the Dolphins, though he can still sign with another team if it offers him a more lucrative deal and Miami does not match that offer within seven days. If Welker leaves Miami, the Dolphins receive a second-round draft pick from the team that signed him (for a player who was originally undrafted).
New England has four RFAs: corner Randall Gay, O-linemen Billy Yates and Gene Mruczkowski, and safety Rashad Baker.
